Writer's Block

I am Samik, shamelessly taking blame as the writer of this column! 84.5% of the time, you’ll find me holed up in my tiny little home office with my Brother Deluxe mechanical, an old turntable with my favourite records playing and a large bookcase filled with my best friends! I'm not much of an internet techie or anything like that. In fact, if you stumbled inside my home office, you'd rapidly form an impression that you've suddenly been transported to the 1970's in a time-machine (for most part, at least!)

The Moonstruck Column started as an attempted humour column way back in 2014 inspired by the movie Marley & Me. I loved the idea. But I used to publish without rhyme or reason—much like life itself! I regret that I never took that column seriously! But the other day, I came across some of the stories I had written over the years. Memories came flooding in. And I decided to put the “D” in the "Discipline" like my father always wanted me to.

So here I am, with brand new stories, a brand new format, brand new illustrations. Although most of it would be extremely self-indulgent musings about cinema, books, art and music, who knows, you might just rediscover the joy of reading. Just as I have rediscovered the joy of writing.
